About Broadband Consulting Services

Broadband Consulting Service (BCS) was founded to serve the unique telecommunications needs of Multiple Dwelling Properties. The main objective of BCS is to provide options to multi-dwelling owners/operators for video (cable TV), voice (telephone) and High Speed (Internet); by involving multiple provider's in the bidding process - with the ultimate goal of saving money and/or enhancing the benefits to their property.

In the past, most multiple dwelling facilities signed a multi-year agreement (usually 3 years) with the incumbent cable operator because of no other legitimate options. Digital and fiber optics have balanced the playing field and allowed the phone and satellite companies to provide the same services, thus creating competition.

BCS works to leverage the resources of telecommunication providers who want to secure long-term agreements with owners/operators of apartments, condominium complexes, senior and assisted living facilities and colleges. BCS will help through competitive bidding and selecting providers.

BCS understands cable easements, outlet locations, and bulk services.

The marketplace itself (not the operator) defines what the market will bare. There is no common corporate policy on door fees (the one time cost of getting access to a facility) or a hard and fast pricing structure that is non-negotiable. Each location presents a unique challenge due to the characteristics of the property itself .

BCS is led by Glen Chalmers. Glen is a 25 year veteran of the telecommunications industry and has managed multiple cable systems in Massachusetts, Virginia, Pennsylvania and New York. He has first-hand experience negotiating cable agreements for colleges, local government and private owners of multiple dwelling properties. Glen has a degree in Media Systems and Management. He has also held senior positions with Time Warner Cable as Director of Customer Service and Director of Technical Operations.
